Design Wall Monday–September 5, 2011

My design wall hasn’t changed much from last week but actually there was a lot of sewing going on this week.  I went to three different shops looking for Superior Threads MonoPoly invisible thread.  I bought something invisible at each shop and then when I went to work at Tiny Stitches, I found that the Superior had come in.  It had been backordered for several months.  So I now have lots of invisible thread but was happy to have the one I actually wanted.  I used the Superior and appliqued all the houses with a small zig-zag stitch and it is almost invisible.

I got the sashing put on the first row and have the rest of it to cut and sew.  I am going down to quilt on the longarm for a while but hope to get more done in the morning.  Once the rows are together there is just a simple border of the gray hometown words to add and then it needs to be quilted.
