Pin Cushion Received

Bea made this cute little pin cushion for me. Mine is in the mail to Turid so I don't want to post a photo yet. It might take a while to get to Norway.

The pattern is a mystery quilt by Debbie Caffery and is wonderful.  This is the fifth year we did one of her patterns.

UFO Number Eight

The final UFO I am committing to is my Halloween One Block Wonder.

0115 UFO #8 - Halloween OBW

It is partly quilted and all the quilting needs to be taken out – I hate to take out quilting!  The tension is a mess and the back looks horrible so it has to be done!

UFO Number Seven

My UFO number 7 is the double wedding ring table runner.  I made it during a class with the guild last year and completed the wedding ring top right away.  Then it went to live with many more unquilted things.  I think it is time to put it on the list and get it quilted.

0115 UFO #7 - Double Wedding Ring

Only one more to go!  Of course that only means that they are on a list – each of them still have to be finished.

More UFOs–Numbers Four, Five and Six

Getting closer to having my list of eight UFOs ready.  Here are numbers 4, 5 and 6.

Number 4 – This is a quilt from more than 10 years ago.  It was a Bag Lady kit and is almost finished.  Somehow some of the rail fence blocks got sewn on incorrectly and I had to take some of the blocks apart.  It still needs to have a couple of rows added at the end, and a few blocks turned in the last two rows that were already sewn to the quilt.  I have the borders in the box with the quilt pieces so think I will just need to find a back, get it quilted and bound.

0115 UFO #4 - Rail Fence

Number 5 – This is an accidental variation of the double slice pattern by Missouri Star quilt shop.  I did it from memory and my memory wasn’t working that day.  Anyway, I still like it and know I have some of the black scissor fabric around for border or binding.  I need to look for it and put it with the quilt top.

0115 UFO #5 - Half Moon Modern

Number 6 – This green and brown quilt was made as a shop sample several years ago and hung in the shop off and on for quite a while.  I think the binding is already made so I guess I will go on another treasure hunt and attempt to locate it. As I remember the binding is the diagonal stripe.

0115 UFO #6 - Green and Brown Quilt

OK  - only two more UFOs to find and commit to.  One will be the Halloween OBW.  The bad tension quilting still needs to be taken out and redone.  Not my favorite thing to do but it needs to be done.

That leaves one more to decide on.  I will go looking and see if I can decide on which one to do.

Allatoona Guild BOM–Month One

I am responsible for running the BOM for the Allatoona Quilters’ Guild again this year. We are working on a house quilt with cute little blocks as the side of the house.  I managed to convince Roxanne, Pat and Carolyn to assist me by making their blocks early each month.  Here are our first blocks.

Can you tell which one is mine?

Bonnie Hunter Scrappy Club

We had our monthly meeting at Tiny Stitches yesterday.  Lots of scrappy goodness.  Several were working on their Grand Illusion quilts.  Michele had already finished hers.  She decided on an alternate setting.

While we were there, Nancy got the borders on hers so it is ready to quilt.

Lots of other blocks were being worked on.

0115 GI mystery blocks 1

0115 GI mystery blocks 2

0115 GI mystery blocks 3

0115 GI mystery 4

0115 GI mystery blocks 5

There was also a Many Trips being worked on.

Lastly, Carolyn was working on her scrappy pineapple blocks.

I am still stuck on the first clue – you won’t see this one on my UFO list to complete soon.  I will just keep working on it.

UFO Number Three

My next UFO that I plan on working on this year is my Swoon quilt made from Authentic fabric by Sweetwater.  I made most of the quilt at the Red Top Retreat two years ago.  It just needs a small outside border on it.

0115 UFO #3 - Swoon Quilt

Since the original pattern finishes at about 80 inches, I wanted it to be a little larger.  I added a border of 2 1/2 inch squares around the quilt and then just need to add one more border of the background.  That should make it a good size for my bed.

OK – now I need to dig around and find more UFOs to list.

UFO Number 2

Here is my second UFO.

It is the center of a quilt and I am not sure if it needs borders or not. I will have to decide soon.

Now off to look for more UFOs.
