Here is the customer quilt that I delivered today. It is a pattern by Nancy Halverson and is called My True Love.

This is the third one of these quilts that I have done – it was a block of the month at Tiny Stitches a year or so ago.

We meet every Monday morning and support each other through everything that life throws at us. We celebrate the good times, commiserate with life’s little challenges and are there for each other all the time. It is wonderful to have such wonderful women in my life.
Instead of meeting in the morning yesterday, we got all dressed up and went out to dinner. As you can see, we had presents, wonderful food, wine and friendship. I made table runners for each of them. Lynda provided each of us with a wonderful dinner in a bag – pasta and homemade bolognaise sauce. Jan made little stockings for each of us, along with some wonderful shower gel. Danielle got each of us jewelry – mine is a necklace, Jan received a bracelet and Lynda received earrings.
It was a great evening with my BFF’s and I am looking forward to spending 2011 with them.

Look at the great fabric I got for my mystery quilt. I have been looking at this since it came in several months ago. It is kind of a difficult fabric to use and there were still 11 1/2 yards so it all came home with me. The pattern calls for 2 1/2 yards of border fabric and 9 1/2 of backing but I am sure I can work it out with the 11 1/2 yards.

We have a Tiny Stitches retreat every January. Last year we had snow and had to postpone – hopefully that won’t happen again this year.
This will be the third annual retreat and we again will be doing a mystery quilt by Debbie Caffrey. Her directions are written so well and they are easy to follow. This year the quilt we will be making uses 4 fabrics plus a border. I picked out the fabrics over the weekend and have them all packed up. There is some precutting required so I will try to get that done over the next month.
The stripe will be the binding. I have the border but forgot to take a photo so will do that tomorrow.

Look at the wonderful fat quarters I won from Kris at Dandelion Quilts. She had a giveaway and I was lucky enough to be chosen.
I am using a Bliss layer cake for the layer cake quilt along and these will be wonderful to supplement the layer cake, in case of a mistake or two. I really love Bliss so this gift is especially appreciated.

I have received the three postcards from the Winter/Christmas Swap. I sent out my three and posted about them earlier but here they are for review.

I received my SSCS swap package earlier this week. I don’t know yet who sent it but the package is safely under the Christmas tree waiting for Christmas to arrive. I did open the ornament and it is on the tree.
Isn’t it cute!
I also opened up my Tote Bag exchange package. Here it is before opening all the wonderful packages.
Here is all the amazing things in the package.
Look at the wonderful lime green trees on the tote bag. The package was from Toni at Red Book Quilt Company.
The little angel ornament is hanging on the tree, I am sampling the candy and drooling over the fabric and floss. The package of buttons and embellishments is wonderful. I am packing up the tote bag with the things I need for working this weekend.

One of the highlights of the last meeting of the year, is the presentation of a quilt to the outgoing President. Pat has been a wonderful president and the above photos are of her quilt. The blocks were made by guild members and put together by Robin, the incoming President. It was beautifully quilted by my friend Bella. Bella did an amazing job of quilting. I love this quilt!
While the blocks (log cabin) are fairly simple, the colors make it outstanding. It will be a treasure for Pat to cherish.

I received a message yesterday that my tote swap package was finally received in Brazil. It took a long time to get there but thankfully made it before Christmas. I love this line of fabric and it was perfect for the bag. I apparently didn’t get a photo after I sewed the button on – it is a giant red button and looks great on it. I made a small click-it bag to match.
The inside has even more fabrics and lots of pockets. Check out the red cell phone pocket!
I need to make myself a Christmas bag – maybe next year!

We had an exciting meeting today at guild. We just started and I was presenting the proposed budget for 2011 when the fire alarm went off – really loud. We picked up everything and went outside to wait for the fire department to arrive. Of course it was on 18 degrees while we were standing outside.
About the same time the fire department arrived, the people from the park department also arrived and turned off the alarm. The alarm is so loud that there is no way you can stay in the building so it works! After checking out the room we were meeting in, they let us go inside out of the cold. They then continued to check out the rest of the building, even going up on the roof. Good to know how thoroughly they check when an alarm goes off.
After that, the rest of the meeting was quite tame.

I was going to skip design wall Monday because I didn’t want to show the same thing again this week. I didn’t do anything with the black/while/lime green that has been hanging out on my board. Then I realized that I have worked on something this week – postcards!
Here they are on the design floor!
They will be going in the mail this afternoon on my way to the bank. I hope they are well received.

It snowed lightly most of the day yesterday but there was no accumulation. When I got up this morning, this is what I saw.
Not much compared to many areas but it is snow. I don’t think it has accumulated any more but continues to lightly snow off and on. It is cold!
One more thing to show. At the guild meeting on Friday, Pat gave out little gifts to everyone serving on the Executive Committee during 2010.
Pat made Big Chicken needlecases for everyone. I love mine. For those who do not know what the Big Chicken is you can read about it here. Just last night we heard on TV an ad that talked about something being 2 miles north of the Big Chicken. It is quite a local landmark.

Next up is another quilt made by Elizabeth.
She used Cuddle on the back again. I love how it shows the quilting.
It is a lovely soft green but the color doesn’t show in these photos.
Thanks to Bonnie Hunter, I have discovered some playthings on Windows Live Writer. I have used it for a couple of years but haven’t played with most of the options.
Here is a T-Shirt quilt that I delivered last night. I have done several of them for this customer and she makes beautiful quilts. This one is for a young woman.
Not sure if you can tell from this last photo but I wrote Feliz Navidad 2010 in the bottom right corner. Pia always has me quilt a message into her quilts.
