Antique Crazy Quilt

Jan brought an antique crazy quilt to Piecemakers. It belongs to a neighbor of hers and she had it to get an appraisal on it. We had Kathy Kansier at guild at the end of the month and she is a certified appraiser.

Here are a few closeups of some of the blocks. I love this orange and blue fan and the 3D flowers.

Here is another two fans.

And another fan - in addition, there are several pictures that are on silk.

There are lots of wonderful seam treatments and more beautiful flowers.

The quilter loved fans, as there are more of them. The flowers are wonderfully embroidered.

There is an embroidered patch with the name of the maker and the date 1885.

  1. Love the Ort...would be great if you did a tutorial! I also love how you quilted to borders with individual patterns rather than and overall pattern. Sharyn/KalamaQuilts
