Beginning Machine Piecing–Final Class

Monday night was the final class for Beginning Machine Piecing.  We had seven students who completed or almost completed their quilt tops.  Here they are with their tops.

Design Wall Monday–November 17, 2014

Nothing new on my design wall today – I still have the OBW blocks from Rhona up there.  I did make progress though as I bought sashing and setting triangles for it.  Not sure when I will get any work done on it.

I spent most of my time last week working on my all day teaching project.  We had 24 women from 9 – 5 yesterday in the classroom making five cute projects.  Here are my samples.  Thanks to Michele and Carolyn who assisted me all day – couldn’t have done it without them!

I didn’t get a lot of photos but here are a few.

One Block Wonder Quilts

Two of my students stopped by the store today and shared their OBW quilts from the last class.  First here is Brian’s – he still needs to quilt it but it looks great.

Chris had hers quilted and bound.

Love seeing finished (or almost finished) quilts, especially from one of my classes.

Quilty Fun

Unfortunately a few of the members of the group were unable to attend last night but there were four of us brave enough to go out in the cold on a very cold night. Here are the rows so far.

Sampler Savvy–Class 7

Next to the last class was last night.  One of the students was sick and unable to make it but the other four made a lot of progress on their quilts.  Here they are on the wonderful design walls in the new classroom.

Marti's One Block Wonder

Here is the center of Marti's OBW. I love how it turned out and can't wait until she gets the borders on.

Isn't it great!

Beginning Machine Piecing–Class Seven

We had a great class last night.  Started putting all the blocks into rows and then sewing the rows together with sashing.  I didn’t get many photos, but here are a few.

Design Wall Monday–November 10, 2014

Today on my design wall are blocks that were given to me by one of my students.  She is taking my Magical Slice and Dice class and hated the blocks she made.  I think they are great so I will finish making it. She thinks it is too dark and just not pleasing to her.

I think I will pick up the light turquoise for the sashing and then perhaps a gray for the setting triangles.  When I go to teach tonight, I will look for the fabrics.  Let’s see how it turns out.

For more design walls, go to Patchwork Times and check the others out.

Classes This Week

Sorry I have been missing this week.  Tiny Stitches moved and things have been very hectic, to say the least.  Even though we only moved to the end of the parking lot, 8000 bolts of fabric is still 8000 bolts of fabric, not to mention thread, patterns, notions and lots of other “stuff”.

Anyway, I taught three classes this week in the new magnificent classroom.

First was Beginning Machine Piecing – Class 6

On Tuesday we had a Magical Slice and Dice class with two students.

1114 Rhona's blocks

Then on Wednesday night we had the sixth Sampler Savvy class.

Lots of fun in the classes and lots of hard work in the store – or should I say stores.
