Design Wall Monday–August 27, 2012

I made a lot of progress on my sampler quilt.  All the blocks are made and half of the sashing is on.  It is amazing how different the blocks look when the sashing goes on. I keep changing my mind on which block I like best but I think the hexagon one is leading at this time.  Which one do you like best?

Just an hour or so more and it will be ready for borders.  First will be a 3 inch white (like the background) and then 6 inches of the purple sashing fabric.  Once I get that done, I will be able to write the supply list for the class.  I have several people signed up but am still unsure how much fabric they need.  One of the disadvantages of designing your own project.

  1. I like the hexagon block but I think my fav at this time is the snails trail but they're all winners.

  2. You are so right about the sashing! Great sashing choice, by the way :) My favorite is the churn dash in a churn dash!

  3. Great sampler, I love the colours you have used. Good luck teaching the class, nice to know you have some signed up already.

  4. The Dresden Plate is such a versatile block, I think it adds a nice contrast to the darker blocks. A sampler class is such a nice introduction to quilting, looks like it will be lots of fun.

  5. The spools are my favorite. Very cheerful colors and great sashing choice.
