Excitement at the Quilt Shop

Look what we saw in the quilt shop parking lot this afternoon when we left.

Not sure if it was alive – it didn’t move but wasn’t flat either.  Hopefully it will be gone in the morning.

On a more pleasant note – here is my Christmas quilt hanging in the shop.

My Gammill was giving me a lot of trouble while quilting this quilt so it is going on a trip to Missouri tomorrow.  Hopefully the guys at Gammill can convince it to behave itself.

Design Wall Monday–June 16, 2014

I am working on a quilt for our Christmas in July party.  The fabric and pattern are called Solstice by Deb Strain for Moda.  The blocks are 16 inch and there are only 9 of them in the quilt so it should go quickly.  Here are the first two blocks.

There are 5 different blocks, 2 each of 4 of them and the center block is unique.  I have the next one cut out and have started sewing them together so hopefully will have more progress soon.

I got the part for my Gammill so I am off to change it and hopefully quilt!

For more design walls, go to Patchwork Times.  I love to look at all the different projects in progress.

Sick Gammill

I have been having problems with my Gammill and I took it to Richard to get it fixed.  He worked on it and I stitched on it and everything was fine.

That is my machine on the right, sharing a table with a newer model.

Unfortunately, after I brought it home and back on it’s own table, it decided to break thread every couple of inches like it did before it went in for repair.  I talked to Richard and he suggested that we swap out the rotary tension – hopefully that will arrive in the mail today.  My Gammill is 13 years old and Richard thinks that it should go back to Gammill for some work that isn’t urgent but needed soon.  He is driving there on Wednesday so if the rotary tension doesn’t solve my problem, she will get loaded on his truck for a trip to Missouri.

I hope to get quilting soon.
