Class at Allatoona Quilters’ Guild

We had a wonderful class from Judy Wurm yesterday at guild.  There were ten of us in class and it was great.

Here are a few photos from the class.

We worked on one of Judy Niemeyer’s wedding ring table runner project.

I got all the parts made and here is what mine will look like when sewn together.

I am loving how it is coming out.  There will be four sections when it is finished.  I had such a good time at class. I did mine scrappy while all the others made a more planned arrangement.  I added the black and white batiks last night – glad I did.

Beyond Beginners–Curved Piecing

Last night was the final session of this series of Beyond Beginners classes.  The focus this time was on curved piecing.  Curved piecing is scary for most quilters but is really easy when you concentrate.  Here are the blocks that got finished.

Here are some close-ups.

They did a great job!

Design Wall Monday–April 4, 2011

Well at least there is some progress on my design wall.

This much is all sewn together.  I still need to do the last two rows before I can add borders but I am really beginning to like it.  I have been thinking about how to quilt it.  It is so busy that an overall is probably best.

Design Wall Monday–March 28, 2011

You are probably getting tired of seeing the same quilt on my design wall every week.  I know I am.

I have sewn some of the blocks together but Shop Hop kept me hopping all week long and nothing changed since last week.

Design Wall Monday–February 7, 2011

Here is what is on my design wall today.

I am making progress on my mystery quilt.  I wonder why black and white quilts don’t look as good here as in person.  This is much more vibrant in person.

Not sure if you can notice the curved block in the bottom corner.  I am going to teach curved piecing at our retreat in March so this is one of my sample blocks.

Check out Judy L’s blog for more design walls.
