Now just to find the time to get them quilted. I still can’t decide which one I like best but I think I probably like the more scrappy one slightly more. Fun what different quilts turn out from the same fabrics.

We had a wonderful time on Monday night. Since it was the last class, we had a little party. I even made homemade ice cream and the students brought in cookies, cupcakes, banana bread and strawberries. We got at least some of the borders on their quilts. Here they are.
I am so proud of them – they all did a great job.

There were three more students but unfortunately they were not at the last class for various reasons but I hope to see their quilt tops soon.
We had a great time in class, the eight weeks went by very fast. Hope to see them all again soon.

We had Hexie Club on Tuesday night. I forgot to bring my butterfly but here are a few of the blocks that were shared.
Rosemarie found a fun hexie box on Pinterest and made it.
She also found a quilt top at one of the local thrift shops.
It was pieced by hand – not using papers.

Here are a few of the quilts being put together during Monday’s class.
Can’t wait to see them next week.

Here is my design wall from last Monday.
Here is is today!
As you can probably tell, I mixed up each of the sections and kept the colors together. I need to get a few more rows done but I think I like this version – maybe better. When I teach this in July, I will have two different samples to show so that should be fun.
The pattern is Scrappy Mountain Majesties from Bonnie Hunter with help from Carol for inspiration.

Last night was the last class where we made blocks. We will start putting the quilts together next week. The first photo is of the homework from last week – log cabin blocks.
We then moved on to flying geese.
Lots of fun!

I got the top for Scrappy Mountain Majesties finished at Bonnie Hunter club yesterday. Here it is on the shop’s design wall.
I had planned on making it larger but decided to get it finished instead. I picked out the two borders so just have to get them on this week. I still have more fabrics cut out and plan on making another top with the fabrics mixed up within each block – thanks Carol for the idea!

Last night was Quilty Fun club night. As usual, there was a lot of inspiration and fun.
First, here are the rows we worked on last month – butterflies!
You can also see the block we are working on for next month – Chubby Chevrons towards the middle. This is my sample row.
Lori recommends that you use a stiletto for making sure the chubby chevrons seams match. So I brought the stuff to make one for each person. Here are the completed ones.
Jeanne is so excited about the quilt that she worked ahead and put part of the quilt together.

Here is the homework from class 6 yesterday.
We worked on the last two blocks yesterday so next week we will start putting the quilt together.

The homework from last week is here. Didn’t they do a wonderful job?
Last night we worked on log cabin and courtyard steps blocks.
Only one more row to work on – flying geese and then we will start putting the quilts together.

More Kaffe mountains on my design wall today. I am getting close to having half of them made.
Of course, along with the Kaffe I have been making leader/ender bowties. Here are numbers 381-400. I am more than half way to making a quilt!

It was the fifth class of eight and we worked on appliqueing the Grandmothers Flower Garden block, then cut Dresden Plate and Drunkards Path blocks. Here is the homework from last week.
The card trick and snails trail blocks are the blocks for next week. Jill is going to miss class so she worked ahead.
