Here are my latest houses. I have 20 done now but am thinking I will make another 10 so I can set them 5 x 6. Besides, I am having fun making them and don’t want to stop yet.
Also, I just realized that I am starting my 8th year of blogging. My first post was on May 13, 2007 and this is post #1953. I decided I should do a little giveaway to celebrate! At Quilt Market last November I got caught up in a buying frenzy at Sample Spree and have never figured out what to do with this fat quarter pack. There are 20 fat quarters in the stack. I am going to give it away to one of my readers.
All you have to do is comment on this post and tell me what your all time favorite quilt pattern is. Do you love log cabins, churn dash, string quilts?? I love all kinds of house quilts, no matter what pattern is used. I am loving this variation of Bonnie Hunter’s Happy Scrappy Houses, using my 2 1/2 inch strips instead of 2 inch like she did.
You have until Friday evening. I will pick a winner around 9 pm here in Georgia which is on EDT. Please make sure I have a way to reach you if you are a no-reply blogger.

ReplyDeleteI think I would have to say that my favorite pattern is Tennessee Waltz. I love the illusion of curves and the beautiful space for quilting.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I never get tired of log cabins! So many setting options! My latest is a "curved"log cabin. Half pieced solid blocks, half pieced prints.
ReplyDeleteI love any quilt with an Irish Chain. The crisp, orderly pattern is so soothing. Happy blog anniversary! Keep writing!
ReplyDeleteI love the curviness of the drunkards path. It's such a versatile block! Thanks for the awesome giveaway and the wonderful eyecandy houses!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy making Turning Twenty quilts.
ReplyDeleteMelinda,
ReplyDeleteMy SIL and I met you two years ago at the ECGQ show. Unfortunately we are not going to be able to make it this year. My favorite quilt is a string quilt. My grandmother had some in her house, my Mom made them, and I have made a few of them too. Thanks for blogging!

I love string quilts. When I retired from many years of working in a hospital lab, I took all my colorful scrubs and cut them in 2.5 in strips and made a big string quilt out of them. I pieced the batting from old scraps, and quilted it myself. It was the least expensive quilt I have ever made, and one of my favorite!!

Since my all time favorites seem to change. Ths week it would be Stars. Congradulations on your 8 year anniversery!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your eighth anniversary. My favourite type of quilt would be appliqued. However, I am wanting to try the disappearing 4-patch and 9-patch. Love the colours of your giveaway fabric. Thanks for the chance to win.

I think 9 patches are my favorite blocks... I just love them in everything!
ReplyDeleteThe first quilt block I made was a 'weathervane" - and I have always loved it. I so enjoy your
ReplyDeleteblog. It is the only blog that I absolutely read every day. I think I may make some Kaffe Fassett houses too. Congratulations.
For the last 6 months or so I have really been focused in on paper pieced Stars. I just love the way they go together and the geometry of the paper piecing.

my favorite quilt pattern is probably Shakespeare in the park, but I love so many different scrappy quilts, it is hard to choose just one patten. Love the neutral fat quarters. Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Anniversary! I think my favorite is the 9 patch! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary. I like anything that is scrappy! (If it only uses squares - even better!)
