Hexie Progress

I finished making hexies – I still can’t find the rest of the pieces that I know should be here somewhere but I have decided that I am done, done, done.  No more of these particular hexies.  I want to move on to another hexie project.

Here they are – from all four vantage points.

I know there are sections where the center blocks are somewhat the same color but I think I am thru moving them.  After I get them put together I will decide what to do about the edges.  So far, my thought are to applique the whole thing to borders, fill in the edges with plain hexies, maybe white, possible add applique to the outside borders.  I am open to other suggestions.

  3. yes, yes, yes!!! I like the applique idea, but is YOU doing with work not me!!! Maybe you'll find the other pieces you have hidden away before you get to that part and then you can incorporate some in the applique or for the back label area. Looks fabuloso !! Don't worry about the same color areas. They do not catch your eyes as fast as the blue inner rings do.

  6. What a huge accomplishment! Your hexies look great. Adding a solid border with an applique sounds like it would be fabulous.

  7. PerhaPS A 1930S yellow border to bring the focus to the center of the Hexies and maybe a small applique training vine that meets up w a tiny hexie every now and again to match one of the larger ones in the quilt. WoW -- this is great. BW polka dot tiny centers might be very nice. Congrats -- Hazel
