My design wall has my Smokey Mountain Stars with the new black centers on it. Also at the top of the photo is the start of a Scrappy Trips Around the World.
After taking this photo, I took the star bits down and started my new class sample for Beginning Machine Piecing. I have been using Alex Anderson's book and decided to design my own. It is going to be a row quilt and I have the first two rows done. There will be six rows in total.
The next row will be friendship stars.
Lastly, here is the progress on my hexie quilt.
I now have 17 flowers sewn together and many more to go.

You certainly have a lot going on and I definitely was not able to pick my favorite, they were all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy, like me are you wishing you had a second design wall? Seriously been eyeing a smaller second wall in the living room, may have to rearrange furniture, LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your scrappy stars.........need to add that to my leaders enders list. While assembling the current quilt top I Started assembling granny sqaures as leader ender blocks while chaining pieces together. Didn't think to start them until yesterday morning but in finishing up quilt top yesterday, I got 9 granny blocks done and one quilt top, and in more or less same amount of time that I would have only gotten the top done. I love whoever came up with that idea about leaders and enders!! So from now on, there's going to be a box full of sorted scrappy squares and assorted light scraps to go with within arms reach of the sewing machine. Your scrappy stars idea will be my next one I think. THANKS for sharing!!
So many fun projects in the works. Each is brighter and happier than the one before. Enjoy your design work. Decisions are not easy.
ReplyDeleteLove all the bright colors you are using in your projects. The blue and black in your class sample have to be my favorite.
ReplyDeletewhoa! that's a lot of stuff going on there and I like it all- but really like those flowers!
ReplyDeleteGoodness look at all those gorgeous projects. What a fun sewing room you must have!!
ReplyDeleteI really like your scrappy TAW. Your class project looks fun and just right for beginning.
ReplyDeleteI admire anyone working with the hexagons. I have two (and maybe three) Grandmother's Flower Basket that my Mammaw did with hexagons. I don't think that will ever make my list!
