Design Wall Monday–January 30, 2012

This is a table runner from last week’s guild special projects meeting.  It is a disappearing nine patch using a charm pack.  I have had this charm pack for a couple of years, along with a lot of yardage, a couple of fat quarter stacks, a layer cake and a couple more charm packs.  The line is Authentic by Sweetwater and I fell in love with it when it first came out.  While I bought lots of it, I didn’t have a particular project in mind and have had a hard time cutting into it.  Foolish isn’t it that when we find something we love, we are reluctant to actually use it.  I doubt I am the only person  who does this, am I?

I need to move a few squares around and then get it sewn together.  I can’t wait to complete it.

  1. Great way to use a charm pack! I just designed a quilt to use a charm pack...so I appreciate this idea too.

  2. That's going to be so cute! I know what you mean about favorite fabrics.... I have the hardest time cutting into them. Internally, I'm saying, "Ok, is this quilt worthy of this fabric?" Silly, huh?!? If it's not "worthy", why am I making it!

  4. I just read how to do a Disappearing Nine Patch on another blog and after seeing your project I'm hooked. Very pretty fabric and now your stash is a little bit lighter, great job.

  7. I love Sweetwater fabrics! I feel the same way about Tula Pink fabrics. Your disappearing 9 Patch looks great. Some times they look blotchy.
