12 Days of Christmas Quilt

I quilted the 5, 10, 20 quilt this afternoon.  I am headed upstairs to get the binding sewn on by machine so I can do the handwork over the next couple of evenings.  The fabric line I used is 12 Days of Christmas by Moda – by the way, Mark Dunn, President of Moda was in Tiny Stitches on Wednesday and I had the chance to show him this quilt.

The last photo is the back of the quilt.  It is flannel from the same line and I used the giant four patch method of doing the back.  I love it.

I quilted it freehand with lime green thread using the Pajama Quilter’s vision of dwirling.  Fun and gives such great texture to the quilt.

  4. I love the quilt AND the quilting. I'd never heard of dwirling before this post. I googled it and discovered its been around for a couple years already! I really like the effect... Wonder if it could be done on a DSM?
