The Acworth Police came to guild today to pick up quilts. This is the third year we have given quilts to them. They use them for children that have to be taken from their homes during the year. We are blessed by being able to make these quilts and hopefully the children are blessed by receiving them.
Here are the Police at the beginning of the meeting before we gave them the quilts.
You can see the stack of quilts on the table in front of them. We were able to give them about 47 quilts today. Here they are with the quilts and some of the members who helped make them.
We always hope that there are enough quilts to last the year. They said that the last few years they run out of quilts right around the time we call them to come pick up more quilts so it seems to work out well.

That is really a cool thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI just moved to the area and I actually just sent in my guild membership dues today for next year. Funny you should post about the guild tonight.
I know no one who quilts locally. Weird how I just stumbled on your blog last week not knowing what area you lived in.
Come say hi.
That is awesome! Great cause for sure! Are you saying Acworth as in 30101? My sister lives there and we'll be through on our 23 layover on Dec 26/27! I will let her know about you. I made her a quilt top and she needs to get it backed and quilted and all. (if that's what you do).

I love how quilters all come together and give to others.
