We rescued Chula (or she rescued us) in January of 2000 and the Vet thought she was 2 or 3 years old at that time. She was a perfect companion to Max the Yorkie. They loved each other and she hadn’t been the same since he left us last year.
Today we had to make the most difficult decision a dog owner has to make and she is gone to doggie heaven to play with Max again. We will miss her – she was a wonderful dog.
Melinda
I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry - I know how hard it is to make that decision, but I believe they go on to a better place - hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. I know how you feel, I lost my cat Cricket last week. It amazes me how a little bundle of fur can make your heart feel so happy and leave such a big hole when they leave us.
ReplyDeleteOh Melinda. I'm so sorry to hear this. It is always a hard decision. And, I know you gave it lots of thought to arrive there. Lots of hugs going your way!
ReplyDeleteIts heart breaking isnt it, its the last act of love you can give them, all be it the hardest act of all.
ReplyDelete(( hug))
I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs from a Rescue Mom in NJ.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss! Those pets leave a big hole in our lives and our heart.
ReplyDeleteOh poor little Chula. She was a very lucky dog the day she found you and Bill. I'm sure Max was very excited to see her and that they are playing now and having a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI know the pain and heartbreak you are feeling: tears come to my eyes as I have felt it, too. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as I know what this loss feels like.
ReplyDeleteMelinda, bless you--may you be comforted by your many happy memories of Chula and grateful that she is playing with Max and they will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge one day.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you had to make that choice...and yet, we had to make the same decision for our dog, Rookie on July 3rd. He was abused when he came to us. We put up with his quirks and loved him anyway. Once he took a 4 month 'trip' after he got out of the locked house during a storm. When we got him back (4 days after adopting a puppy!), he looked at us as if to say 'what took you so long!?' I miss his odd quirks and sometimes think I see just glimpse of him. Bless you for making the best and hardest of decisions for your BFF. Hugs Beth in AZ
