Collage Round Robin
I am in a collage round robin with a yahoo group. We each started out with a piece of watercolor paper that measures 22 x 15. We started with some background color and mailed it to the next person on the list. We have 6 people in the group so 5 additional people with be adding to the backgrounds we started.
The above pictures are from the background I received from Kristin. The first is when it was sent to me and the second is what I added to it. I am not sure I like what it looks like now but it will be fun to see what others add to it.

Fiber Art Bee Meeting
We had the first meeting of our new Fiber Art Bee today. We all belong to the East Cobb Quilters Guild and formed this bee to experiment and play with different types of fiber art. This month we experimented with using bleach on fabric.
We meet at a local shop - Fiber on a Whim in Sandy Springs, GA. They have a wonderful basement that they allow groups to rent. It worked out great for our playing.
We all brought fabric, buckets, rubber stamps and other items to use. Sharon wrote up some guidelines and led the group. We all had so much fun. I ended up with 6 different pieces of fabric - some of which I like and some are just OK. It is really interesting to see what colors the bleach brings out. My favorite is the black fabric that bleached red/orange.
Rolodex cards
I received my monthly rolodex card swap from DivaDeco Swappers today. We started with March and choose a topic each month to swap. April's theme was April Showers. It is fun to see how everyone takes the theme and does something different with it.
The May theme is Self-Portrait. That should be a lot of fun. I can't decide what to do for mine yet.

Affair of the Heart Tags
I have been working on finishing up a few swaps. The picture is of some of my tags for a swap called "Affair of the Heart" on the Fatbooks yahoo group. I had fun putting the wings on the heart cards and then stamping, inking and other messy stuff. They in the mail on their way to the hostess. One more swap checked off my list.

Starting out
I decided that I needed a blog to share what I am doing with my retirement. I had always thought that I will have time to do everything that I wanted once I retired. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be true. Of course, my interests have increased much faster than my time allows.
I started out as a quilter. I have made many quilts and continue to love quilting but recently I have become interested in other art forms, especially playing with paper and fibers. I have joined several internet groups that create fatbooks, decos and other altered art type projects and have been having a lot of fun with these. My love is still fabric however and I find ways to include fabric and fibers in most of my projects.
I have been working today on puzzle pieces from a swap. I finished 4 of them and put the in the mail, forgetting to take photos. I am also in a calendar round robin where each month we work on the current month in someone's calendar. I did remember to take picures of what I did to the current calendar. For this calendar, we are each doing two spreads.
