We have been working on a secret project over the past few weeks. Yesterday was the end of the secret. I have mentioned my friend Danielle before, along with her belief that red socks make you feel better if you are sick. She is undergoing radiation for a brain tumor so the natural thing to do is make her a quilt – a quilt of red socks. Not sure if I mentioned that she grew up in Boston. That matters because of the name of the quilt and label.
Here is Danielle under the quilt Monday afternoon.
Here it is from the front.
We used the leftover fabric from Bill’s sock monkey quilt for the borders and received lots of red sock blocks. I quilted it with hearts and loops.
We are all wearing red socks, along with Danielle and of course prayers are always welcome.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea and quilt to match.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty cool thing to be loved by Melinda, the Mavens, the Piecemakers and the ECQG folks who made blocks and got the quilt together in a hurry. Thank you very much. Melinda, did I tell you it was after I got home that I discovered a row of sock monkeys had their socks colored red! It made me laugh. I took the quilt with me to the hospital today and they folks there were incredibly impressed by it. Thank you for all your work.
